100wc - Josh - Teacher's Pick!

Bad Smell
John woke up. AAHHHHHH! The massive spider that lived under the floorboards was on his face. John waved his arms around and knocked over a jar. A mysterious smell wafted out. It felt like everything at once; heaven to hell, happy to sad. John got out of bed and went to look for a brush and shovel to clean it up. Once he found the brush and shovel he went back to clean it up but it was gone. Suddenly, not caring, John went to look for a knife. Pop went the toaster and he started to spread the marg.

The Autumn mists were gathering early and the night was growing dark when it appeared. A round white ball shaped thing that had big oval eyes. It was staring at me, just sitting there looking at me. It was almost like it wanted something. I bent down to touch it but it fled into the bushes. A couple minutes later it came out. Suddenly it jumped at me; I thought the little puff ball was going to kill me, it started to drag me into the bushes. When I look up I see a bunch of white fluffy things ...What?

2nd Place in the Psychological Science Category!
YMS are so proud of Isabelle and Paige. At the end of last term they entered the Canterbury Science and Technology Fair and chose the question "Can most people tell the difference between a name brand soda and a generic soda?" to investigate. There were hundreds of very interesting entries. Paige and Isabelle won $25 each for their 2nd place and a certificate. Congratulations!
If anyone wants to find out more, their board is in the school office.

Blake's 100WC
One day some boys went out for a walk. They went into the bush and said, "Let's play a game of hide and go seek. Let's play half the group is in and the other half is hiding". So the hiding group went off into the bush. One of the boys who was hiding, was walking and fell into the hole of doom and was never seen. 120 years later when the forest was being dug out they found a sculpture with what look like a whole lot of legs being eaten. The Question is: Was it a sculpture?

Chloe's 100WC - "Crazy Bowl"
There once was a family who bought a bowl. But what they did not know, was there were people living in there. Oh and by the way the family who bought the bowl were actually giants and the bowl is actually is like a pool for us normal sized people. Well while the family was getting ready to have dinner, the people who lived inside the bowl were trying to escape. I do not think that the family know that there are people are in the bowl! So the people put their legs in the air to get the family's attention.

Katie's 100 WC - "The Sculpture"
In my mind this sculptre is a large pot that comes to life and eats humans then regurgitates their legs to stck them out of his pot hole. But no its a sculptre that a human made, it seems pretty big in pictures so I assume it would've taken a few months to make. It lives in Paris, I have always wanted to go to paris. It seems so fancy, the sculptre has a story behind it and that is probably why it was made for example she likes pot holes and legs? Maybe walking I guess.

Jesse's 100 WC - "The legs!"
Sammy just got a new toy from and he saw a weird pot of legs rise from the ground at the middle of the town, my visual was off. One of the legs kicked me in the leg and l fell over, I landed on the ground. When l looked at it, it just perished away; strange. I require a trip home now! We went in the car and a spurt of water got me from the waterfall. Now l know not to ever beg or ask for a toy again to my mum and dad.

Josh's 100wc - "Time Travel Legs"
The day began in paris 2053. The day when Jonny Starling invented time travel. Jonny woke up in the morning feeling sluggish and not wanting to get up. But eventually he did. Jonny walked to work like he does 5 days a week. He showed up to work late because he stopped in at starbucks. Inside his office there was a massive machine. It had what looked to be legs poking out the top and a face on the front. He hopped inside the machine looking around and marveling at all the controls. He hit the big red button."AHH!"

Asher's 100WC - "Super Natural"
Lord Chraydor looked over his empty kingdom, trying to think of what to do with it. 76 years it had been since his last villager passed away. (A demon had swept in, and taken out all his people). What to do? Chraydor thought to himself. 'DING!' He had an idea. So he set to work. He sent out a note to his good friend Sharkon to build a repulsive statue to ward off any demons that came to threaten him. It was very grotesque, with a bowl face, and the legs of his enemies poking out the top. Job done.
